MAKING A VHS HORROR MOVIE IN HOPES OF A MONTREAL SUMMER

We went to Fantasia last summer for a Honeycomb screening and also to attend a market for our new project CAMP. It was probably the most fun I have ever had in my life, and we wanted an excuse to go back.

So Henry and I wrote a script together and then got $85 flights to Calgary to go shoot this thing. Our friends out there REALLY know how to make movies. We shot a 20-page script in 3 evenings, all on my producer Taylor's very awesome VHS camera.

The premise: The boys go on an exclusive cabin trip specifically to watch old horror movies that ~obviously~ only boys understand. The girlfriends are pissed they weren't invited. So they ~obviously~ drive up there and go on a coke-induced murder spree.

This was inspired by the people I have come across in my life who have developed attitude problems after watching, collecting, and reviewing too many movies.

The movie has a working title "Cinephile Complex". I am not sure if we will stick with that. Fingers crossed we make it back to Montreal so I can drink for three weeks straight and embarrass myself in front of more important movie people.

Thank you to everyone who made this project come to life <3
